When there is absolutely no surf, we find a great way to pass the time is Kayak Fishing. Here on the First Coast, it's AWESOME! Since we're at the beach, most of our fishing is in the ocean. And even though we're not pros, we catch a ton of fish!!! Whiting, Blues, Pompano, Trout, Mackerel, and yes, the occasional shark or catfish (we even had one tarpon hooked but not landed last summer). Fishing off the kayaks allows us to use extremely light tackle so no matter what we catch, we have fun!!! And the fishing in the backwaters is known to be even better -- particularly when the Reds are running. Two of our craft that have proven to be excellent fishing kayaks are the Wilderness Systems RIDE and the new Wilderness Systems PAIRADISE (which can also be used as a double).
